We, the International League of Peoples’ Struggle, stand in solidarity with the AWC- Kyoto, the Kyoto Coalition, the Kinki Coalition and the Japanese people against the building of the new US base in Ukawa district, Kyotango-city, Kyoto and against the deployment of the X-band radar base and its related facilities as essential part of the US Missile Defense network in East Asia in connivance with the Japanese government.

OPAPP Secretary Teresita Q. Deles has repeatedly attacked The Hague Joint Declaration as a “document of perpetual division” and has obscured the fact that the declaration stipulates the 4-point substantive agenda, the first point of which has already resulted in the Comprehensive Agreement on Respect on Human Rights and International Humanitarian Law (CARHRIHL.  Deles has publicly dismissed  this major agreement as a minor thing.

COMMENT ON THE PHILIPPINE CASE

In a previous interview, I said that the strongest piece of international law in favor of the Philippines is the UN Convention on the Law of the Sea (UNCLOS), particularly with regard to the 200 mile exclusive economic zone. I even challenged the Manila government to file a case in the International Tribunal on the Law of the Sea  (ITLOS).
